This heat and humidity is horrible today! So bad that even Shadow – who loves being outside – couldn’t wait to come back inside after relieving herself.
Ducky’s at daycare today, so we had some “just me and my Shadow” time. So glad Shadow loves this game. It’s perfect for when she’s on leash restriction like she is now. I do all the work and she doesn’t have to move.
As long as Shadow’s happy, I’m happy. Right now she’s napping. In about 20 minutes I have to leave to pick Ducky up at daycare.
What kind of games do you play with your dog(s) when they have to remain relatively quiet?
Have a great weekend everyone!
That looks like fun.

We are expecting a hot and humid week here so I’ve been thinking of ways that I can occupy Sherman and Leroy. I think I might have to bring out the puzzle toys!

I’m glad that Shadow got to have some fun while Ducky was in daycare. Sometimes it is hard to be able to give individual attention/playtime when you have more than one pet.

It sure is!! Especially when one of them is a possessive little demonbrat. (But we love her! 😍)

SO clever!!! Love that… you’ve inspired me… I think I’ll have to try that with Emmett. His hips are REALLY bothering him right now (I’m wondering if the humidity is part of that) so it’s been tough to get him the exercise he needs. Thanks for the brilliant idea!

Any time, my friend! The humidity could have a lot to do with it…it always bothered Callie’s hips.

Very cool. So basically you ‘fetch’ the ball and throw it to her, she catches it and drops it back at you. She’s damn brilliant that one, look at how well she has you trained. 🙂

That’s about the size of it. LOL. But, hey, for my girl? Anything that makes her happy. 😍

I LOVE to play puzzle games with my doggies! Or ‘magic tricks’, it’s so funny to see them try to figure it out!!
I can see that Shadow really enjoys her mommy-and-me time!!
Have a great weekend!!
Love x

This looks like a really nice game: when our guys are on leash restriction we typically break out all the puzzle toys and I have to get creative so they don’t gain a ton of weight as I stuff them with cookies and yogurt. I like this game with the ball though so I’ll need to check it out!

Thanks for stopping by! This game works great for Shadow when Ducky’s at daycare; not so much when she’s home.

We are really mellow dogs in general and are happy to just lie around and do nothing. We do so much with walking/running/sports we don’t usually need any extra stuff to keep busy. Looks like such a sweet time alone with Shadow. Alone time is wonderful.

Now that’s a fun way to spend a day stuck indoors on leash restriction! Shadow looks like she is having so much fun! I’m not too good at coming up with indoor/quiet play ideas – these guys get way too wound up when a ball comes out. LOL

Shadow loves this game – even when she’s not on leash restriction – when it’s too hot/humid to play outside. It’s just hard to play with Ducky around, stealing the ball when I don’t get to it fast enough.

Yes, that would be Cricket too. She’d take over the whole game!

Wow, she’s so incredibly focused on the ball-love that! Sam would only give me a “double-blink I-have-no-idea-why-you-threw-that-thing” look at me. The only games we play are head games and I tend to lose at that, but what the heck? 😉 Stay cool this weekend. ღ
