A Bittersweet Anniversary

Today is the 15th Anniversary of Callie coming to live with us.

While it is bittersweet that she’s no longer here (in her earthly form) to help us celebrate, it’s also special. You see, not only is it the anniversary of her joining our little family; but it’s also the very same day of the week, Friday, on which we brought her home.

So, I thought I would share some of her “baby” pictures with you.

Here she is at two weeks, when we first met our baby.

And at seven weeks, when we brought her home from the breeder’s house..

Our poor baby had an ingrown eyelash in her lower left eyelid – that’s why it looks so painful in these pictures.  Our wonderful vet did a little “nip and tuck” procedure the following Monday, which healed beautifully, and our sweet Callie never had another issue with that eye.

    I am so happy that you shared these adorable photos. Sending you (((hugs))) as I know this day has to be so hard. You are right though, Callie is not here in the “physical” form, but she is with you always in heart, soul and spirit.       Thanks Caren. Callie is always with me in one way or another. I miss being able to bury my face in the scruff of her neck; but I know she knows when I need her and she always finds a way to let me know she’s here at my side (and Shadow’s right here with her).

    what a lovely furkid…. hugs and kisses… maybe it is karma , that nelly has his first gotcha day today too? Nelly is very proud that he can share this anniversary with your angel callie… hugs to you bittersweet is the word, yes… but there is so much more behind… our heart feels like a glowing lump of lava when such days are there…
