Run Free Sweet Bogie 💔

Our precious baby boy is in Heaven/at the Rainbow Bridge with his sisters, Callie and Shadow, and brother, Radar. Hubby and I are devastated, our hearts shattered. My brother’s heart is shattered, too.

It hurts so much to write this post so I’m not going to say much now. Bogie got away from hubby at the gate between the back and front yards, and the next thing we knew Bogie had his angel wings. The coward who hit our boy was going so fast that Bogie was gone in an instant. But he didn’t bother to stop to see if he could help. There’s a special place in Hades for people like that. Thankfully, there were compassionate people who did stop. And two young men who saw it happen apologized for not being able to get the license tag number. They also picked up Bogie’s lifeless body and carried it across the road and put him down gently on our driveway by the front door. Hubby and I thanked them and the other folks who stopped, and shared hugs with one lady who was almost as shaken up as us. And one of our sweet neighbors came out to try to console us.

Then my brother, hubby, and I lifted Bogie into the trunk and drove down the road to our new vet. I had called the clinic to tell them what had happened, and to ask if they could take care of things for us. “Of course we can. Just call us when you get here and we’ll take care of everything.” They absolutely took care of everything, including hugs all around. Bogie should be coming home early next week.

    I’m very sorry to read this. I didn’t know Bogie, but he died without suffering, and his last thoughts must have been about home and family, whom he will see again. Godspeed, Bogie; there are no dangers where you are running now.

    I did not know know Bogie, and I have cats, but I am here and in tears. I lost my Dash Kitten in a sudden tragedy and, like you, I was devastated. I send my love to you all at a time that must seem like a nightmare.

    Hold on. You loved your Bogie and I am sorry his loss was so sudden and you were powerless. Don’t blame yourselves. You are right about the wrong doer, there is a special place in Hell for those heartless people.

      Thank you so much, Marjorie. I am sorry you lost your Dash Kitten in a sudden tragedy too. This has been a horrible nightmare, worse than any I ever had as a child.

      I am holding on with the help, love, and support of family and friends. And I’m comforted by the belief that his older sisters and brother were waiting for him at the Rainbow Bridge to console and love on him for us and will stay by his side to the day we are all reunited.

    I’m so sorry to hear of Bogie’s tragedy. I imagine you’re both in shock right now. Just wish we could give the driver a ‘lesson’ in empathy…or something.
    Just think of Bogie romping around Rainbow Bridge with his sisters & brother….having a good ‘ole time. And, some day we’ll all get to reunite :).

      Thank you so much, Susanne. I find comfort in the belief that the girls and Radar were waiting for him to console and love on him for us. They will always look out for and take care of their baby brother. We will see them all again one day. 🙏🏻🌈🐾❤️💙

    Sue, you already know how completely devastated I am about sweet Bogie. My heart is breaking all over again reading this post. I cannot believe that disgusting person did not stop. I didn’t know that and it makes it even worse. I can’t imagine someone existing like that. It is making me sick to my stomach. You have had more pain than anyone should have to endure, this is just unimaginable and there aren’t enough words to even convey the depths of my sorrow. I just can’t believe this happened and I am so sorry. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Sweet Bogie may he RIP…..I am certain his soul will be born in another precious woofie (((hugs))))

      What happened to Bogie shouldn’t happen to any animal, young or old. I am comforted by the belief that Callie, Shadow, and Radar were waiting for him at the Rainbow Bridge to console him and love on him for us. They will continue to look out for their baby brother, and stay by his side. And, yes, when the time is right they will send us another sweet soul to help heal our hearts.

      Thank you so much, Ann. These fools around here think they can do whatever speed they want on whatever road they want. They will pay some way, some day. Meanwhile, we will find a way through this. Nothing can bring our baby boy back to us, but we will always love him.

    Oh we are so sorry to read this ! It is always too soon to lose an friend but this is particularly cruel. As you say, he is now running with his sisters…but so hard on the ones he left. POTP to all who love him.
